Day 19 – Minshuku by Temple 28
It was a long, wet day making it to Temple 28. I was out of my Henro House by 7 am and at Lawsons for a bite to each. I caught up on the news too and left at 8 am. At first, I was following the 55 then I heard a familiar voice of an Aussie asking why I was not following the cycle path. I stopped and talked to the Aussies for a while then walked with them for about an hour. At lunch time, I pealed off and stopped in a Family Mart. Sumo!!! Selfie with Sumo! Lunch and on the road again. My blister on my little toe is really annoying me and I think I might want a rest day when I get to Kochi City. Away we go to Temple 28. It rains and rains some more. I finally get to my Guest House and the Japanese couple is very relieved to see me. However, they are very concerned that my walking partner is not with me. I tell them I have no walking partner but the two Aussies are about an hour behind me. They are very confused and a Japanese-American gentleman from Hawaii steps in to translate. They think it is only me and one other. Oops. The room is large and even though I know the Aussies don’t like sharing a room and I am certain they will be too tired to care. Sure enough an hour later, the Aussies arrive and just want to crash after such a long day. Dinner is outstanding and the weather forecast is promising. Off to bed! Good night all!
