Day 27 – A bench in a park

It rained all night long. Luckily, the henro hut was built for the task. I work up at 530 am to the sound of pouring rain and rolled out at 6 am. I walked over to the Kombini, used the restroom and bought breakfast. Kachi was up and his tent was flooded so he had it on the table to die out. We talked a bit and a fisherman rolls up in his mini pickup. Just checking on us to make sure the ohenro are ok. Yes, the locals will check to see how you are doing on your trip. They want you to be successful. At 8 am the rain finally dies down and we walk. I decide I want to stay two nights in Tosa-shimiza so I can leave my bad when I go down to Temple 38. Well, I cannot find a room. I run into Kachi and tell him the the park bench is calling me. We grab dinner and head to our campsite. We set up at 8 pm and crash. Not the most comfortable place to sleep. Oh well.
