Day 30 – Camping by a dam
Well, Kachi informed me he needed another day of rest. I think he needs a doctor. Oh well. I am off at 630 am for the Kombini. At 7 am I am on the road to the dam I plan to sleep next too. It is a 27 km trek with no food or water for about 22 km. I was told to hike in lunch and dinner. Sure enough, it was just like Kachi told me. A very long walk. I stopped for lunch at the first vending machine at noon and laid out my wet sleeping bag and bivy. Sure enough, a gentleman gets out of his car and gives me ossetai. What an amazing little cookie! So neatly wrapped and delicious! I get to the dam and the security guard asks if I am saying. I say yes and ask if it is ok. He says ok. I hope I did not offend him. I don’t think I did. This seems to be a regular camping spot even for the Japanese ohenro. In truth, the security guard is probably the only person around tonight. Off to bed. Good night all.
