Breakfast was at 7 am this morning and it was excellent. The coffee machine was top notch. Seriously great coffee. I hit the road at 8 am and started an epic road walk to Unpenji, the highest temple on the Shikoku. Interestingly, it is one of the easiest in that it is a road walk. The views were awesome. When I got to the top, the temple did not disappoint. I took the ropeway down for an epic view. At the bottom, I found a little snack shop with hot food. The $7 Udon set was cheap and incredibly good. One man worked the entire place and kitchen by himself. His service was excellent and took care of everyone equally. Very impressed. After that, I began the road walk to my accommodation. It was a very pleasant and uneventful walk. When I got to the henro house, the husband called out my name. He brought me into this incredible home. I have the upstairs room. After the tour, he made me a name plate. Yup, he is a master metal worker with a full metal factory out back. The guy is no joke. His wife is the super happy bubbly Japanese grandma who looks maybe 30 years old. It was only later that I realized the pictures were of her grandkids. The house comes with a dog named Ace. He is 16 years old and rules the place through pure love. What a great day!
