Day 18 – Aki City Guest House

Ms. Misono took our bags this morning and dropped them at a friends place at the bottom of Temple 27.  I am grateful.  Temple 27 was a very hard climb in 80 degree heat and 90 percent humidity.  I can only imagine what a 18 pound backpack would have made of my day.  I get to the top rather quickly and it is beautiful.  Very well landscaped and attended to.  I even went the extra 500m to the higher temple on the mountain.  Quite nice but not as good and Temple 27.  On my way down, I run into the Aussies and have a chat.  We are staying in the same guest house in two days it turns out.  I am off to get fluids and then my bag.  I hit the vending machine for a sports drink then refill that with water from the tap.  Hydrate!    Down the mountain to my pack.  I leave my nameslip with the lady who is nice enough to let us leave our things at her place.  This country is very old.  There are young people and children but the elderly dominate the place.  After I get my pack, I head to Lawson for lunch and more liquid.  No WIFI!  Rats!  I head to Aki City where I will be staying the night.  Along the way, I see icecream and have to stop.  While enjoying my dessert, the Aussies pop up out of nowhere.  I must have rested more than usual today.  I end up walking with them until I reach my guest house.  The guest house is doable but a little rundown. The two ladies running the place are very friendly. Better than sleeping in the rain that is for sure. I am now at Lawson writing this post and having dinner. I need to update the videos after this post and then head to bed. Good night all.
