Day 43 – Friends floor

I got up a bit late and went to a very nice bakery.  I indulged on pasteries for breakfast.  I proceeded to Temple 56 but was a bit slow.  On the way to Temple 57, I got my first ossetai of the day from a Japanese grandma who flagged me with a call of “Ossetai!”.  It was a warm lemon drink.  It went really well with my peanuts.  On to Temple 58, it was a nice hike through a forest area.  At Temple 58, the gentleman doing the stamp professed he was not a monk but an artist.  He was covering for his friend the monk.  He is a professor at Kyoto University but spent his youth in San Francisco 47 years ago.  Hippie!  Anyway, clearly knew what he was doing.  Left 58 for a nice long walk to 59. Outside 59 I received my 2nd ossetai of the day. A Japanese softdrink from a Japanese grandma on patrol. After that, I just pounded in the miles and finally hit a train to Saijo City to meet my friend. Good night all.
