Day 15 – Hotel in the middle of the long stretch.

I left the surf hotel early and was on my way to a very long day.  Yesterday, I asked for advice and the ohenro group laughed at me and said to just walk.  Well, I walked and walked some more.  There was a good 10 km stretch with no services at all.  Around 30 kms I decided that given the weather I wanted to stay in a hotel if possible.  I rolled up to Lodge Ozaki and they were full but the lady called around until she found me a spot at M. Tokumasu on page 32-a of the Henro Bible.  I walk up to the door and I am greated in perfect English.  Such a nice surprise.  I look in the back door and see a 98 year old Great Grandma.  She is watching her Great Granddaughter who just turned one year old.  Her mother runs this hotel and the lady I am talking to.  Lucky for me, someone cancelled and I got the open room.  Very fortunate.  Let me be clear, this lady and her husband are some of the best and nicest people I have run into.  Their kindness cannot be quantified.  So warm and wonderful.  I recommend this place to anyone especially if you are a native English speaker.  I just finished dinner and laundry.  The hotelier has called ahead and made me reservations at Temple 26 which is supposed to be very nice. She also recommended Misono after that which was already on my list. I feel very fortunate and humbled by the people of Shikoku and especially of the people who so actively care for the ohenro. Good night all.
